The Department of Dentistry was established in the year 2022, and the department aims to provide the best health services to all members of society in the field of examination, diagnosis and treatment of all cases of oral and dental diseases under the supervision of highly qualified professors for the purpose of preparing the rehabilitation of students to be dentists at a scientific and practical level.

Vision:
The college seeks to have a distinguished scientific position in dental sciences with its counterpart in other countries and educational institutions.

Mission:

• Qualifying professional competencies in dental sciences according to modern teaching methods to raise the capabilities, skills and knowledge of its outputs.
• Actively contribute to scientific research and community service.
• Coordination with institutions and intensification of training workshops for students and affiliates to activate keeping pace with development through comparison with active educational and health institutions.

Goals:

• The department aims to graduate students as dentists with theoretical and practical experience and as a medical-human profession, where students receive all the subjects that qualify them to be competent dentists in dental and oral diseases.
• Introducing students to the dental profession as a medical and humanitarian profession with a historical overview of the profession through the ages.
• Adopting preventive health programs for all segments of society, through studies and research on oral health.
• Providing health services to members of society in all its segments, represented by sound and defect-free treatments, including examination, diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases, extractions, fillings, orthodontics and dental prostheses, by making use of the educational technologies of the Faculty of Dentistry.
• Organizing continuing education programs, which ensures a permanent renewal of the knowledge of faculty members and doctors and the development of their practical, professional and research services.

• The duration of study in the department is five calendar years. The graduate who completes his academic studies obtains a Bachelor’s degree in Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery.
• It possesses detailed, accurate, up-to-date and specialized information, scientifically and practically, on the practice of examining and treating oral diseases, especially those related to teeth, and is then included in the dental training system prepared by the Ministry of Health.
• After completing and gaining the necessary practical experience, a graduate is entitled to apply and obtain membership in the Iraqi Dental Syndicate, where the graduate enjoys all the privileges, rights and duties under this membership, just like his fellow graduates of dental colleges.
